Running on Empty...

Lily: Mommy the pee's gonna come out!

Mommy: Well- lets get to the bathroom- hurry, hurry!

We walk down the hall- Lily half wiggling half crossing her legs. I lift her up onto the toilet and wait.

Lily: I'm all done!

Mommy: But nothing came out- why don't you try a little longer and see?

Lily: But Mommy- I'm all empty!

We both crack up...I would never think to put it that way I guess.

Weekend

Lily turned three and a half on Saturday. I told her that we would get ice cream this weekend as a treat- she was really excited about it. The very first thing out of her mouth Saturday morning was "I wanna go get ice cream!" I looked at the clock- it was 7:45. I told her that we definitely would be getting ice cream that day but it would have to wait until after lunch. She immediately starts whining and crying and I'm thinking dear god, we aren't even out of bed yet and the fits have started. So I got up, closed the door, and went to the kitchen to work on some cards I have been making. Luckily she calmed down pretty quickly and her quick fit wasn't representative of our whole weekend.

Later we went to the library for new books and movies- then to McDonalds for ice cream. She asked for a chocolate cone and the guy handed her one of those mini cones (35 cents!) but it was vanilla. She was upset and I asked if she could please have chocolate. He said they didn't have chocolate- that they never had chocolate…I am like WTF??? Didn't we always used to have those half chocolate half vanilla cones? When did that stop? How long has it been really? 'Cause the guy looked at me like I asked for something outrageous like cheeseburger flavored ice cream- seriously. Anyway, she got over that pretty quickly because I gave her some of the chocolate from my sundae. All together our little treat cost $1.47. I love it- and she was happy too : )

We also went to the park and played outside. It is so nice to see her out and walking-running- easily. It wasn't exactly warm on Saturday afternoon but warm enough to play for awhile. We ran around all over and went swinging and digging in the sand. We rode her bike over there so we had a nice walk to and from as well. It felt good getting a bit of exercise.

Sunday we had no plans at all and we stayed home all day- not to say we weren't busy though. I had lots of cleaning to do and some projects to finish up. Lily played ball a lot and with her seals (she checked out a puppet seal from the Library). The best part was making the cake. I knew I wanted to bake something and Lily asked for a cake. So I made a homemade chocolate cake with home made chocolate cream cheese frosting. Though it turned out so rich I am sure most of it will end up going to waste- but we had lots of fun mixing and measuring. I think Lily really likes it too and she is showing a lot of interest lately in what I do in the kitchen. I hope she remembers the two of us doing this stuff together. If not- that's why I take like a million pictures.

So even though we didn't have a lot to do this weekend and it was just the two of us- we did do some fun stuff and I feel rested- ready for the long week ahead. We've got quite a lot of stuff going on this week and now I'm just counting down until my couple of days off next week…yipee!

Silly Lily..

A couple more pictures for y'all...Lily has actually had a pretty good week so far. We've been taking it pretty easy and she's been a good helper. The first picture I don't know what kind of face she was going for- other than a little freaky. When I looked at it though I noticed a bit of how she looks a little like me. I don't know if that's a good thing considering the look...

The next one we were just goofing around before bed and she wanted me to take her picture. I got the camera out and she decides to lick my sweatshirt- and of course she thinks its hilarious that she's doing licking me and immediately asks to see the picture. What a goof!

And the last one is for Danielle...a girl after your own heart as you can see. Lily putting on her makeup before school one morning.

Lily putting herself to sleep last night...

Flower put the cookies in the cookie jar..who me? Yes you. Couldn't be. Then who?
Ice cream put the cookies in the cookie jar..who me? Yes you. Couldn't be. Then who?
Bushes put the cookies in the cookie jar..who me? Yes you. Couldn't be. Then who?

I'm doin' the hulup dance..

She'll be riding six white horses when she comes etc, etc...
I'll have to sleep with Gramma when she comes etc, etc...

Psst...(no response from me) psst...hey, hey mommy (i can't stifle my giggle- we both giggle) For the love of God someone tell me where the off button is on her...

Also I learned that "Yo Mama" doesn't work as a response to any of Lily's questions anymore. She asked me something (I can't even remember what) and my response was "Yo Mama." She was thoroughly confused. She said "No not you Mommy." And I was like, "Oh yeah, that would be me...dang"

I'll have a couple pictures tomorrow. I was going to get up and put them on my flash drive after Lily fell asleep but I think I fell asleep before she did. What else is new?

What do you think of the new layout?

The picture is from a coworker of mine...absolutely beautiful I think. Not much going on this weekend- just hanging out. Last night Briana and I went paint dancing though and that was fun. Cool people, cool music and fun paints! What more could you ask for? I was seriously considering not getting off the couch once I got home, but I am glad I did!

Happy Monday

Must...have...coffeeeee.... It was one of those mornings. I didn't even think of having my usual Black Breakfast Tea this morning...I needed something to wake my a#$ up! Oh the horrors of the "Spring Forward" daylight savings Monday after...ugh like ahangover and a half. That is all I have to say about that: UGH!

Lily had kind of a tough weekend this weekend she had at least five tantrums yesterday and by bedtime I was just done.

She twisted her leg a bit too when she was throwing a fit so now it is pretty sore- she was limping a lot more yesterday. I don't think it is too serious though but I'll keep my eye on it of course- never stop being a Momma bear- but I don't feel that sorry for her because she's the one flailing all about when she doesn't get what she wants- not really my problem you know?

I'll have a picture up tomorrow of her asleep on the kitchen floor after she threw a fit about not getting any more sprinkles...

PS- It wasn't all bad though...I told her Friday morning she could get a treat after school if she did well- and her teacher's said she did great all day. She picked out a chocolate donut with green and white sprinkles from the grocery store.

Oh yeah..another funny conversation..

Mommy: Oh Lily I love you! You are my Princess!

Lily: I'm not a Princess Mommy!

Mommy: You're not? What are you then?

Lily: I'm the Queen!

See how it is around here?

Peanut Butter Cookies

We made peanut butter cookies last night and Lily was my helper! She did a great job stirring and measuring and licking the spoons. She even rolled the dough in sugar and helped flatten them with the fork tines. Great job Lily! Oh and also when I picked her up from daycare last night she was walking! No pain or anything though she still has a bit of a limp. I am so proud of her!

New Pictures

She's seems to be doing pretty well- managing at least and not too upset about not being able to get around too much. We'll keep you posted on her progress! The first two pictures are right after she got out of the bath with clean hair, clean clothes and painted toenail- so cute!

The wait is over...mostly

Lily got her cast off yesterday- I took some pictures but I didn't get them on my flash drive to post them today- tomorrow I promise. Everything went well but here's the part I didn't think of... she won't walk on it at all and the Doctor said it could take two weeks before she's not limping. So it's more like back to square one for a few days where she can't get around at all by herself. They said she is doing fine at school though. I called and checked of course.

Other than that she had a terrible morning not wanting to get out of bed and I feel bad because I was not exactly the picture of "Motherhood" I was sooooo mad at her- She didn't want to get up and I tried being the nice Mommy doing little tickles and finding her feet but after fifteen minutes I was starting to lose my patience. But I didn't do it right and ended up frustrated and she ended up frustrated- I had to take her to school with no pants on because once I would get them on she'd just take them off again. She actually yelled "You are ruining my life!" I can't believe the anger that comes out of her. Really all I wanted her to do was calm down and get dressed but she was having none of it. I called her teacher to apologize later for bringing her in that state. It is so embarassing- other kids have trouble sometimes too but Lily is by far the worst out of everyone...what is going on with that child? And then I feel terrible afterwards too.

And then I have a hard time focusing on work like right now (or all day today)...grr. I guess I jsut needed to vent! I better go.

The Truth is....

  • When Lily is gone for the weekend and the apartment is quiet and dark it's kinda scary and I have a hard time getting to sleep

  • When Lily is gone, shopping feels like therapy. Which is weird because I don't usually like shopping much-mostly it feels like a chore.

  • I get a little lonely without her even though I look forward to a little time to myself

  • I put off all my chores as long as possible. I barely cook or eat and the house is a disaster. Motivation is seriously lacking- until mid morning on Sunday when I gotta really bust it to get all the cleaning done.

  • The truth is I like having her around even though lately her nick name is Miss Attitude. : )

By the way Monday is hopefully the big day. It has been five weeks since she fractured her leg and we should be getting the cast off. OMG that thing stinks. Yikes. First thing on the list as soon as we get back from the Doctor appointment? BATH!!!!! A good long soaking for that child- though how her hair still looks so good after five weeks with out a really good wash is completely beyond me.

I know she is going to be really nervous having them cut the cast off so I haven't said anything to her about it yet- last time she freaked out- it was probably one of the hardest things I have had to do. I just kept trying to talk her through it- but it was scary even for me! The doctor coming at you with basically a hand held circular saw- might as well have been a chain saw though with how noisy it was. It will be over quickly though and then…oh, I just remembered that I better bring a shoe for her! We have to start keeping track of two shoes again! Yipee!

Here are some pictures of Lily helping me with my Knitting
